Projects / Engineering
At our Projects department, early involvement is key. For every project, we put together a dedicated team with the right expertise. From the very first phase, we actively think along about the manufacturability of your product or solution. This allows us to control costs together and work efficiently from the start.
Thanks to our short lines of communication, we ensure a smooth transition from project phase to series production, leading to a successful and reliable collaboration.
Our project approach consists of five phases:
- Intro: introduction and project definition
- Design: design evaluation and specifications
- Manufacturability: feasibility analysis and optimization
- Proto: prototyping and testing
- Series: series production and delivery

Production engineering and preparation
Our Production Engineering team is a key link within VDL MPC. By working closely with our purchasing, sales, and project departments, we ensure a smooth transition from the quotation phase to the actual production process.
- Cost calculations: we carry out detailed calculations to accurately determine the costs and required materials for each project.
- Manufacturability: we assess the manufacturability of products and provide solutions to improve production processes.
- Programming and work instructions: our team programs the machines and creates clear work instructions to ensure efficient and reliable production.
- Process optimization: we continuously strive to improve and optimize our production processes to increase both efficiency and quality.
Supply Chain
The supply chain covers all processes involved in planning, coordinating, and controlling the flow of goods and services. Effective supply chain management reduces costs, improves efficiency, minimizes risks, and increases customer satisfaction.
At VDL MPC, key processes within our supply chain include procurement and outsourcing, production planning, order management, and logistics. We work closely with our suppliers and partners to ensure consistent quality and optimal efficiency. Using a robust MRP system, we maintain accurate planning and high delivery reliability. Our supply chain plays an integral role throughout the entire production process.
Logistics
In addition to production, logistics plays a crucial role at VDL MPC. Our logistics department covers the following key areas:
- Warehouse: secure storage of your products in our modern warehouse with large capacity. Call-off based contracts are available to ensure fast and reliable delivery.
- Packing Department: careful preparation of your products for shipment or storage.
- Supply to production: continuous replenishment of our production lines directly from the warehouse.
- Transport: organization and coordination of global transport through trusted partners and our own resources to guarantee high delivery reliability.
- Inspection: checking of all incoming and outgoing goods.
Quality Control
